A little bit more (or should it be Moore) about being a member at the MCC
At Moore Camera Club, we’re big believers in the hands‑on, sleeves‑rolled‑up side of photography. We learn by doing, laughing, experimenting, and occasionally discovering that the “wrong” settings actually made the best shot of the night.
We help each other out, share tips, swap ideas, and celebrate those little “aha!” moments that make photography so addictive.
We’re also brilliant at nudging each other out of our comfort zones.
Whether it’s through our monthly competitions, themed challenges, or our practical evenings, you’ll find yourself trying genres you never thought you’d enjoy — from low‑light street photography to long‑exposure waterfalls to “why is that sheep staring at me?” countryside shoots.
Sometimes we’re in the clubhouse experimenting with lighting setups, and other times we’re out exploring towns, fields, canals, or anywhere with interesting shadows and a decent coffee (or maybe even a cheeky pint) nearby.
And it’s not just about taking great photos — our members also use their skills to support local charities and community groups. From photography and videography to drone work, we love putting our creativity to good use. You can read more about that on our Charity Volunteering page.
Also worth noting our Club Members shoot a variety of kit, Sony, Canon, Nikon etc. with a variety of lenses, flash and other gear, so it’s a good place to “pick up and feel” rather than just read reviews and guess if something would work for you.
